Board Chair and Executive Director, Nigeria Chapter

Titi is a global strategist with over 29 years of experience driving business resilience and inclusive innovation across public, private, and philanthropic sectors. Her expertise spans Business Resilience, RAID governance, AI ethics, ESG strategy, regulatory compliance, and crisis response—designing future-proof systems for fragile and high-risk environments, scaling resilient systems, and navigating geopolitical complexity across diverse industries, including management consulting, oil & gas, transportation, financial services, and strategic intelligence. She consistently delivers resilient solutions in complex, high-stakes environments.

She is a certified practitioner with multidisciplinary expertise and a proven track record of leading global expansion and stakeholder engagement across EMEA, SSA, and APAC. Her portfolio includes activating strategic ecosystems and advising boards on regulatory strategy.

Titi serves as Board Chair of Global Chamber® Nigeria and Global Mentor at Nottingham Business School amongst others. Whether shaping philanthropic frameworks, advancing digital rights, or driving governance innovation, Titi delivers visionary leadership, operational excellence, and measurable impact.

Gary Munroe

Advisory Board Member, Country Level

Sir Gary Munroe was born in Toronto, Canada, to Guyanese parents and has lived across Guyana, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria. Knighted in 2023, he resides in Abuja with his wife, Chinyere, and their four children. In his spare time, he enjoys computer repair, cooking, and mentoring young athletes. A graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Nigeria, he began his professional journey in the Royal Air Force (RAF), where he was commissioned by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in May 1991.

During his service, Sir Gary held several key roles including Communications and Aircraft Engineer, Detachment Finance Officer, and Head of Ethnic Minority Recruiting. He contributed significantly to the development of the Integrated Logistics Support Policy (ILSP) and the Logistics Information Technology Strategy (LITS) with IBM, initiatives later adopted across the UK military.

He also served as Engineering Detachment Commander for NATO’s Operation Deny Flight during the Bosnian Crisis.

For his distinguished service, he received The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.

Outside his military career, Sir Gary is an accomplished athlete and long jump record holder for the British Services with a distance of 7.52 meters. He continues to coach athletics at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.

Today, Sir Gary serves as CEO of a registered companies in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, providing technology and security consultancy to government agencies and international clients.

Emem Rita Usanga

Advisory Board Member, Country Level

Emem has over 20 years of sales and business development experience in the media and tech industries, beginning her career at Haymarket Publishing, where she specialised in the automotive sector. She went on to work with several organisations, including two WPP companies, across diverse sectors such as fashion, retail, and pharmaceuticals—serving global clients in Europe, the USA, and Asia.

She joined her first startup in 2001 and, nine years ago, transitioned into UX and Product Management. Since then, she has worked with or advised numerous startups spanning finance, the charity sector, social gaming, and eCommerce.

Emem is the Founder of Tech Nigeria Advocates, the country chapter of the Global Tech Advocates network—a 40,000+ member group across more than 40 of the world’s fastest-growing tech ecosystems.

She has served as the London Local Lead for the Interaction Design Foundation, a Strategy Committee member for Ada’s List, and a member of the UK-Africa Fintech Investment Group (a DFID and DiT partnership). She has also mentored for Seedcamp and Techstars.

Muazu Umar

Advisory Board Member, Country Level

Mr. Umar is the Founding Director of Policy and Research at the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), a Financial Action Task Force-style regional body for West Africa, headquartered in Dakar, Senegal. He has served as a Director at GIABA since 2011.

With over 32 years of extensive experience in operational roles and policy development, Mr. Umar is a widely respected expert in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and broader financial and organized crime.

He leads GIABA’s initiatives on risk assessments, research, and policy formulation. Over the past 16 years, he has actively contributed to the work of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), shaping global policy and advancing understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) risks, trends, and typologies. His foundational expertise lies in counter-narcotics and AML/CFT/Proliferation Financing (PF), with a specialization in countering organized crime.

A Nigerian-trained counter-narcotics officer, Mr. Umar began his career with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), where he held senior and management roles for 12 years. He joined GIABA in April 2009 as a Law Enforcement Expert.

His distinguished career includes being awarded a Chevening Fellowship on Combatting International Organised Crime by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2009, and selection for the International Leadership Visitors Program by the U.S. State Department in 2003, also focused on combating international organized crime.

Mr. Umar is an active member of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), the leading global think tank and non-profit organization dedicated to combating organized crime. As a member of the GI-TOC Steering Committee, he contributed to the development of The Intersection, a global call to action for a comprehensive strategy against organized crime.

Renowned for his mentorship and guidance, Mr. Umar has supported numerous academics and professionals in their efforts to address financial crimes and remains a pivotal figure in the global fight against financial and organized crime.

He is married with children and maintains a strong interest in emerging technologies, with notable expertise in data science and creative writing.

Emmanuel Igbinoba

Emmanuel Igbinoba is a Principal Consultant at Cleartrace Consultants Ltd, specializing in delivering comprehensive due diligence, sophisticated threat assessments, and strategic compliance solutions for clients operating in complex markets across Africa and China. He possesses deep expertise in corporate intelligence gathering, including retrieving corporate records, identifying ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO), and conducting sanctions and PEPs screening. His core strength lies in risk assessment and profiling, evaluating political, regulatory, and reputational risks to safeguard client operations. Furthermore, he is highly skilled in market entry strategy development, advising on optimal entry models, navigating regulatory landscapes, and mitigating barriers to entry. His proficiency is supported by advanced OSINT monitoring and the use of specialized compliance databases to conduct thorough investigative research.

This commercial intelligence is complemented by his role as a Senior Research Fellow at the West Africa Center for Social & Economic Research (WACSER), which provides him with on-the ground insight into the socio-economic and political drivers of risk. With a PhD in International Economics and professional certifications in KYC/AML (Go-AKS) and project management (Prince2), Emmanuel offers a unique blend of academic rigor, practical analytical expertise, and deep regional understanding. He is adept at delivering clear, concise, and actionable intelligence, providing clients with the clarity and resilience needed to navigate international landscapes and make informed, secure investment decisions.

Anie Akpe

Anie Akpe is a strategic leader with over 20 years in banking and financial services, where she managed billion-dollar mortgage portfolios and built high-performing lending teams. She is the Founder of African Women in Technology (AWIT), a global initiative that has spent the last 10 years empowering over 8,000 women across multiple countries, and the Founder of Lumo Hub, an AI-integrated skills and innovation platform transforming universities and local communities into hybrid learning and creative centers. With an MBA from Dowling College, Anie combines financial expertise with emerging technology to build ecosystems that connect education, entrepreneurship, and the future of work.

Niyi Sanusi

Advisory Board Member, Country Level

Niyi Sanusi is a Nigerian lawyer who is qualified as a barrister and solicitor of the supreme court of Nigeria. He has a first degree in political science and also a bachelor’s degree in civil law. Both degrees were obtained from the University of Lagos.

He is the managing partner, the throne legal associates with practice areas such as commercial law, corporate law, corporate practice, Intellectual property, oil and gas, investment law advisory and due diligence, amongst others.

Niyi is co-founder and Nigeria Representative of the African Continental Legal Alliance which is an informal alliance of law firms operating across the African continent.

He was the representative of the Astertax Consulting which is a company that focuses on Pan- African/Cross-border Business, Due Diligence, Tax, Audit, Legal and Market Entry Advisory.

Niyi is a Director of Zaki Mining Limited which engages in trading mineral resources. In addition, he has over the past few years been involved with legal advisory of companies undertaking housing and infrastructure in Nigeria and other parts of Africa.

He is the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of several Nigerian entities and is presently advising one European entity on the establishment of an electric vehicle assembly plant in West Africa. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Misrah Leadership Center and is a keen observer of international affairs and geo-politics.

He plays chess and watches football in his spare time.

Prince Ayorinde Adedoyin

Dr. Umar Yakubu

Dr. Umar Yakubu is a seasoned expert in Defence, security, and anti-corruption strategy, with over two decades of experience spanning public policy, governance, and global advisory. A Nigerian national based in Abuja, he holds a PhD in Defence & Security Studies and an MSc in Counter Fraud and Counter Corruption Studies from the University of Portsmouth.

Azes Ahmed Giwa, Esq.

Azes Ahmed Giwa, Esq. is a dual-qualified legal professional with over a decade of experience spanning the UK and Nigeria. He holds an LLB in Law and Criminology and a master’s in criminal Litigation from South Bank University (2012–2017), followed by rigorous training at the Nigerian Law School (2017–2019), where he was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2019.

Dr Chris Ugwu

Dr Ugwu is a trusted governance and development expert with over two decades of impact across education, gender justice, and public health. As Executive Director of the Society for the Improvement of Rural People (SIRP), he leads sustainable development initiatives aligned with SDGs 1–5, including menstrual hygiene outreach to over 6,000 girls, STEM SPORTS integration in schools, and rural water access. His consultancies with UKDFID and USAID span governance reform, education sector strengthening, and gender-focused HR systems.

A champion of gender equality, Dr Ugwu coordinated MenEngage Nigeria (2020–2025), mobilizing men and boys to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Child Marriage. His advocacy helped institutionalize the Child Rights Law (2006) and VAPP Law (2019) in Enugu State, reducing FGM prevalence from 85% to 10–15%. He promotes Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) through community engagement, policy reform, and digital advocacy.

Dr Ugwu’s expertise spans education, health, human rights, and inclusive innovation. He has trained civil servants, led outreach across 17 local government councils, and developed gender-responsive budgeting frameworks. His values—dignity, equity, and community-led change—are reflected in his work with adolescent girls, government actors, and international NGOs.

He continues to advocate for treating drug use as a health challenge, not a criminal offense, and leverages technology to expand SRHR access. His leadership blends strategic foresight with grassroots impact, shaping Nigeria’s next generation of changemakers.
